Top: Urban Outfitters, Skirt: Forever 21, Shoes: The White Ribbon, Bracelet: Salvage & Stone, Ring: London Manori

One outfit rule that I always hear, or that often pops up in the back of my mind when I'm getting dressed, is about texture mixing. Apparently when choosing an outfit it's a good idea to mix different fabrics between your top and bottom pieces so that you're not wearing the same texture all over, and while I do agree that this is a good strategy, I also loooove wearing an outfit where each piece is made from the same kind of fabric. Chiffon and chiffon, silk and silk, lace and lace, something about it is just so lovely. It feels easy somehow, and I'm all about ease when it comes to summer style.

Shop Sale And Redesign

Over the next week or so I'm going to be making a few changes to some of the items in my Etsy shop, redesigning a few old pieces and replacing some of them with newer items. So I thought I would put everything that's currently in the shop on 20% off for today and tomorrow! If there's something you've had your eye on but haven't gotten around to purchasing, now is the time to grab it because it might be gone and turned into something new by next week. Use coupon code DESIGN20 to get the deal.

Teala In Her Custom Salvage & Stone Headband

Outfit: Blonde, Headband: Custom Salvage & Stone piece

I wanted to share one way that Teala has styled the custom headband I made for her about a month ago. I love the leopard and floral pattern mixing going on, and the flowers looks so beautiful with her pale purple hair. You can find a similar headband in the Salvage & Stone Etsy shop right here.

tried one of Elizabeth's ways to style a Salvage & Stone headband, but I think the side swoop reminds me too much of my emo girl days

Gypsy Soul Kimono

T-Shirt: Gap, Shorts: Blonde, Kimono: Gypsy Soul Designs, Sandals: Everlane, Necklace: Salvage & Stone, Ring: London Manori

A couple of weeks ago I wrote an article on a clothing line designed by a couple of Kelowna locals called Gypsy Soul Designs, and as a little thank you they gave me this beautiful kimono. I love a good kimono or chiffon cardigan, it really dresses up an otherwise plain outfit. You can read the article I wrote over here, and shop for kimonos on the Gypsy Soul Designs website. Each piece they make is unique, so you won't find another kimono just like this one, but you can find several similar styles on their online shop.
The necklace I'm wearing here is a new style I'm working on for my Salvage & Stone fall/winter line, which will be available around August 15th. It's been so nice being back at my home base, I have so much more space to work on new creations. I can't wait to share all the fall/winter items with you guys!
