Blog Move!

Hi Friends!

Some of you may have noticed that over the course of the last few months there has been a serious lack of blogging around here. It has mostly been due to the fact that when I was living in California, I wasn't working and was able to treat blogging like a full time job. Since I've been back in Canada, I've been working full time and I've been in school, so blogging and other fun activities have kind of been put on the back burner.
The other reason for my lack of blogging is that lately I've been feeling stretched a little bit thin. I love writing this blog and I have so much fun with it, but I also have a jewelry shop to run and paintings that I want to make, and then running all of the extra promotion and social media that goes along with all of these different things that I do. I found that I wasn't focusing as much energy on everything I do as I would like to, and as a result all of these separate things were lacking something. Thankfully about a month ago a solution to the problem occurred to me, which was to consolidate all of the things that I do into one space:

I have now updated my website to include everything I do: painting, drawing, design, Salvage & Stone, and my blog! And there will be a shop option on there as well, hopefully by March, so you can shop for Salvage & Stone items as well as paintings, prints and other cool stuff. I have been feeling so much more motivated to work on my projects now that everything is in one place, so I'm really looking forward to what kind of shape this blog will take now that it's in a new space.

If you've enjoyed reading this blog and want to stay updated, be sure to head over here to bookmark my new blog site. I also wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who has read and been following this blog, it really does mean so much to me.

Salvage & Stone on Dyemonds and Dishes

Last week I had the pleasure of styling a photoshoot with clothes from Blonde for a local blogger, Shanelle of Dyemonds and Dishes. So of course I had to sneak one of my own necklaces in there too! Be sure to head over to her blog to check out her two Valentine's themed outfits, and you can find both looks at Blonde.

A Very Early Sign of Spring

Sweater: Gentlefawn, Tank Top: Lulu Lemon, Headband: Salvage & Stone, Necklace: Salvage & Stone

I know it's still a little early for spring, but over the weekend I got started on some new, springy headbands to add to the shop and this one is my new favourite! It is so comfortable, the fabric is so incredibly soft and it looks pretty cute too if I do say so myself. I wore it to a yoga class last night and it was perfect for keeping all those annoying wispy hairs out of my face. This headband, along with a couple of other new styles, will be up in the shop by Friday!

Hermit Style

Sweater: Joe Fresh, Jacket: Joe Fresh, Scarf: Wilfred, Leggings: American Apparel, Bag: Thrifted, Boots: Urban Outfitters, Necklace: Salvage & Stone

I think winter has a tendency to make us all feel a little bit hermity. I mean really, why would anyone want to leave their house when it's cold out? It is so much easier to stay cozied up in bed! Lately I've been trying to put in more of an effort to bust out of my hermit routine and actually go have a social life. On the weekend I met up with my friend Gabby for a little lunch date. It was so nice catching up with her, and she was kind enough to snap a couple of pictures for me while we were at it. I always feel so lucky to have so many friends in my life who are willing to help and support my endeavors.

Etsy Finds

Another roundup of some of my favourite things on Etsy right now! I've been following Parlor Tattoo Prints for a few years now, and I would love to have a handsome sailor man to hang on my wall.

My favourite kind of jewelry are really simple, easy pieces like these stackable rings from Sunday Owl. Definitely out of my price range, but it's always nice to look and hope!

For some reason this year I'm really digging pom-pom toques! The neutral colours are what drew me to this one from Plexida.

I just love hand written letters and cards! Now if only I had someone to give this one to.

I will never say no to a Breton striped shirt! This classic piece is from AnnakShop.
